Ohio Woman Wins Kia Soul After Spending 3 Weeks Inside

Would you spend 3 weeks in a car listening to other people's snoring, dealing with smells, and getting very few breaks to win a 2012 Kia Soul? Three women in Ohio would, and did. Deanna Sutorius, Vanessa Branch, and Rachel Cothey lived in the Kia Soul for twenty-one days at the Halleen Kia dealership in North Olmsted, Ohio. They each received one five-minute bathroom break per hour and a fifteen-minute break every six hours. At the end of the three weeks, each woman was asked to choose a briefcase with a number corresponding to her prize. Rachel Cothey walked away with the Kia vehicle, while Sutorius and Branch both received a consolatory prize of $2,500 each.

The Kia contest stretched through the first three weeks of November 2011, and, while the ladies encountered many issues, they also had some fun times. The women pulled several pranks on the Halleen dealership employees. One such joke was Rachel Cothey's favorite part of the experience. She states, "We told them they had a rodent problem and then we took all the [computer] mouses off their desks and put them up on the desk and said we rounded them up."1 The ladies all felt that the contest was worth it, but they couldn't wait to get home and take showers.

The 2012 Kia Soul impresses with its funky, boxy style and low price, along with its incredible standard features, including: Bluetooth, iPod input, Satellite radio, and up to 26 city mpg/ 34 highway mpg. It starts around $14k, and it's loved by young families and thrifty singletons alike. Interested in test driving the Soul or another new Kia? Or, perhaps all you need is some friendly Kia service.
