Kia to Bring Sports Car Concept into Production in 2013

Car fans know that just because they've been teased with a concept car doesn't mean that car will go into production. Kia delighted sports car fans when they announced that the GT, which showcased at the 2011 Frankfurt Auto Show, will be going into production.

Haven't heard of the Kia GT sports car? Well, Dale Jarrett has the scoop. The Kia GT has four doors, four wheel drive and seating for four. The lines are so sculpted on the new GT that Top Speed first mistook it for an exotic Maserati.

The interior of the GT Concept features plentiful tech gadgets like a rear view camera with playback capabilities and premium materials to make the cockpit as luxurious as possible.

To match the Kia GT Concept's truly awesome appearance, Kia fitted it with a 3.3-liter turbo V6 engine, that kicks out nearly 400 hp and 394 lb.-ft. of torque. How many of these specs will transcend concept to production, however, remains to be seen. Though, rumor has it the production GT won't be a far cry from the concept and Kia might even build two additional variants - a coupe and a wagon.
